3. Third-Party Cookies and Data Sharing

3.1 AI Model Providers

When AI features are enabled, limited cookie data may be processed by:

• OpenAI: Content moderation and AI processing
• Anthropic: AI processing and safety checks
• Google: AI processing
• AWS/Google Cloud: Infrastructure and secure processing

3.2 Safety and Moderation

• OpenAI moderation: automated classification of text against safety categories, including child safety, harassment, self-harm, and violence.
• Age check: the age check described in our Privacy Policy.
• Stripe Identity: the optional government-ID appeal route, if an age estimate is wrong.

These services receive only the data needed for the specific check, and not your browsing history.

3.3 Business Partners

• Stripe: card payments for subscriptions and Nuggets, Stripe Identity for age appeals, and Stripe Connect for creator payouts
• RevenueCat: in-app purchase and subscription management
• Amazon Web Services: hosting, content delivery, and security
• SendGrid and Amazon SES: transactional email delivery
• Twilio: SMS and one-time codes

Stripe and RevenueCat are our only payment processors. Some services you may recognise as payment brands, PayPal among them, are available in MyOrbit only as optional third-party connectors you can link to an account. Linking one does not make it a payment path, and we do not process payments through it.

4. Your Cookie Choices and Control

4.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit MyOrbit, our cookie banner appears with these options:

• Accept All: Enable all cookies for full functionality
• Manage: Open the preferences panel, where Essential cookies are always on, Analytics and Marketing cookies can be turned on or off individually, and you can reject all non-essential cookies or save your choices

We never use pre-ticked boxes. Your consent is always explicit and can be withdrawn anytime.

4.2 Account-Level Cookie Settings

Navigate to: Settings → Privacy → Cookie Preferences

Choose from presets:

• Minimal: Strictly necessary only (most private, limited features)
• Balanced: Necessary + Functional + Analytics (recommended)
• Full: All categories (complete features, personalized experience)

Or customize each category individually. Changes apply to your account.

4.3 Browser-Level Controls

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies → Choose your preference
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Prevent cross-site tracking
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection
• Edge: Settings → Privacy → Tracking prevention level

4.4 Platform-Specific Controls

iOS (App Tracking Transparency):

• We request tracking permission per Apple requirements
• Selecting "Ask App Not to Track" disables advertising cookies

Android:

• Manage or delete your Advertising ID in Google Settings
• Opt out of ads personalization under Settings → Privacy → Ads
• Control app permissions for MyOrbit

4.5 Global Privacy Signals

We want to be accurate here rather than reassuring. Our website does not currently detect or act on Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals automatically.

Global Privacy Control support is on our roadmap and actively being worked on. We are not going to give a date we cannot commit to, but we would rather record it here as a known gap than stay silent about it. When it ships, this section will change to say so.

In the meantime, to exercise an opt-out:

• use the cookie banner or the preference controls described above;
• use the iOS or Android advertising controls described in section 4.4; or
• email privacy@myorbit.ai and we will apply the opt-out for you.

5. Cookies and Platform Economics

Why Cookie Choices Affect Features and Pricing

Our AI features require expensive API calls to frontier labs. Cookies help us:

• Cache responses to reduce redundant API costs
• Manage AI processing costs
• Track usage for accurate and fair billing
• Optimize performance to keep subscription prices low

If you disable AI feature cookies:

• Each interaction costs more (no response caching)
• AI features may run less efficiently
• Features may be limited to control costs

6. Cookie Data Retention

Your Rights:

• Export all cookie data via Settings → Privacy → Data Export
• Delete all cookies instantly via Settings → Privacy → Clear Cookies
• After account closure, cookie-derived data is handled under our data deletion policy

7. Compliance with 2025 Privacy Laws

7.1 EU AI Act (Effective February 2025)

• You can contact privacy@myorbit.ai about AI-driven decisions
• We do not use cookies for social scoring or other practices the EU AI Act prohibits

7.2 Digital Services Act (DSA)

• Clear labeling of cookies used for content recommendations

7.3 GDPR & ePrivacy (EU/UK)

• Explicit consent required for non-essential cookies
• Consent withdrawal available anytime
• Data minimization and purpose limitation enforced
• Cross-border transfers use Standard Contractual Clauses

7.4 CCPA/CPRA (California)

• You can exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, including opting out of any sale or sharing of personal information, by emailing privacy@myorbit.ai
• No discrimination for exercising privacy rights
• Financial incentives clearly disclosed

8. Safety Exception Cookies

Even if you opt out of all optional cookies, we may use minimal safety cookies to:

• Detect and prevent child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Identify potential self-harm or crisis situations
• Block terrorist or violent extremist content
• Prevent coordinated platform manipulation
• Comply with court orders or legal obligations
• Investigate serious Terms of Service violations

These safety cookies:

• Process only essential data for protection
• Cannot be disabled while using MyOrbit
• Are subject to strict access controls

9. Mobile App Data Practices

Note: Mobile apps don't use cookies but use platform-specific storage methods. This section explains how our mobile apps respect your privacy preferences.

iOS Application

• Complies with App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
• Uses IDFA only with explicit permission
• Sign in with Apple preserves privacy option
• No HealthKit integration — MyOrbit does not request or receive Apple Health data

Android Application

• Google Play Services for core functionality
• Advertising ID used only with consent
• No Firebase Analytics — analytics collection is disabled in the shipped app

Progressive Web App (PWA)

• Service workers respect cookie preferences
• Local storage aligned with cookie choices
• Push notifications require separate consent

10. Updates to This Cookie Notice

We review our cookie practices quarterly and update this notice when:

• New laws or regulations take effect
• We introduce new features requiring cookies
• We change our third-party providers
• User feedback suggests improvements needed

Notification Process:

• Material changes: 30 days advance notice via email and in-app notification
• Minor updates: Posted with effective date change
